Eco Tour

This is not your standard rehearsed tour. Nicko takes a maximum of 5 guests on has specialised river eco-tours and because river life is vibrant something different to be seen each trip. Nicko's vast knowledge of this area ensures that you see and learn as much as possible during this not-to-be missed experience. After exploring ancient mangrove systems his boat cruise into magnificent rainforest habitat where guests experience native wildlife and fauna in its natural form. Your skipper will point out flora and fauna and explain the intricacies of mangrove and rainforest ecology.

Native birds such as the rare Great Billed Heron, Azure Kingfisher, Rainbow Bee eater, Black Bittern, Lorikeet, Figbird, Orange Legger Scrub Fowl, Wompoo Pigeon, Jabiru, Osprey, White Chested Sea Eagle, Flying Fox, Torres Strait Pigeon and the Egret are offer encountered. Green tree snakes, pythons and the occasional taipan have been spotted. During the winter months at low tide crocodiles are a common site.

Fishing

Cooktown is home to the magnificent river systems of the Annan and Endeavour Rivers. Both rivers lay claim to some of the best fishing in Far North Queensland. These pristine jungle-clad rivers with their mangrove-lined estuaries are perfect for the keen beginner or the most experienced angler.

Skipper, Nicko goes to great lengths to ensure his passengers catch a variety of fish, which may include Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark, Queenfish, Trevally, Sooty Grunter, Black Bream and Jungle Perch. Nicko quickly processes your catch while you continue to fish, ensuring top quality product and that you spend as much time as possible chasing the numerous species of hard fighting tropical fish.

Croc-Spotting

Not for the faint hearted! To see a 5 metre crocodile in the wild is an amazing experience. During winter months, at low tide your are almost guaranteed to see at least one of these "dinosaurs". Nicko will point out the habitat and tell tale "slides" of these ancient creatures while providing photos and video opportunities. A trip not to be missed!
