Spear Fishing

Spear fishing on the Great Barrier Reef is a unique experience offering a wide variety of fish life from pelagic’s to territorial fish and the famous tropical reck lobsters. Nicko caters for everyone from the novice to the experienced blue water enthusiast. Snorkelling

The beauty of the Great Barrier Reef is yours to experience when you cruise from Cooktown onboard one of Nicko's safe and comfortable vessels. You will be able to snorkel among some of the Reef's most spectacular coral gardens and diverse marine life. This is an excellent way to see the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef and is suited to a wide range of abilities from children and beginners to the experienced snorkeller.

Nicko even provides opportunities for non-swimmers to view the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef without getting wet. Plant corals, gorgonian fan, blue coral, brain coral are just a few of the many varieties of hard and soft corals to be seen on one of Nicko's snorkelling trios. Fish watching is the aquatic counterpart of bird watching and a basic knowledge of common reef fishes can add considerable enjoyment to your diving activities. Nicko will help you compile a checklist of what you have seen on your dives and help you label your underwater photos.
